Apple Takes on Google Workspace and Microsoft 365

Apple has announced Apple Business, a new all-in-one platform that combines device management, business email and calendar services, and customer reach tools. The platform launches April 14, 2026 in over 200 countries and regions.

Key Features

Built-In Mobile Device Management (MDM): Apple Business offers comprehensive device management from a single interface, including new "Blueprints" for zero-touch deployment. New Apple products arrive ready to go out of the box with preconfigured settings and apps — eliminating the need for dedicated IT resources.

Custom Domain Email and Calendar: Businesses can now set up professional email, calendar, and directory services using their own domain names, directly through Apple's infrastructure.

Customer Discovery via Apple Maps: A new option coming summer 2026 will enable businesses in the US and Canada to place local ads in Apple Maps during key search and discovery moments. This extends Apple's existing business profile features across Maps, Mail, Wallet, and Siri.

AppleCare+ for Business: Upgraded support options including iCloud storage tailored for business use.

Strategic Significance

This represents Apple's most aggressive move into the B2B market to date. By combining MDM, communication tools, and advertising into a single platform, Apple is positioning itself as an alternative to Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 for the Apple-device-first organization.

The zero-touch deployment feature is particularly significant — it removes one of the biggest barriers to enterprise Apple adoption by making device provisioning as simple as handing a new device to an employee.

Pricing and Availability

Apple Business replaces Apple Business Essentials (previously US-only). It will be available starting April 14 in over 200 countries. Apple has not yet announced pricing tiers but the expansion suggests a competitive strategy against established B2B players.
