Apple Business: Apple's All-in-One Platform for Device Management, Email, and Local Advertising
Apple Goes After the SMB Market
Apple has announced Apple Business, a new all-in-one platform launching April 14, 2026, in over 200 countries and regions. The platform combines several previously separate Apple services into a unified offering targeting businesses of all sizes.
Key Features
Built-in Mobile Device Management (MDM): Apple Business offers comprehensive device management from a single interface, including device settings, security configurations, and app deployment. New "Blueprints" enable preconfigured settings and zero-touch deployment — new Apple products are ready to use out of the box.
Business Email and Calendar: Companies can now set up email, calendar, and directory services with custom domain names, replacing the need for third-party providers like Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 for basic communication needs.
Local Advertising: Coming summer 2026, businesses in the US and Canada will be able to place local ads in Apple Maps during key search and discovery moments — a significant expansion of Apple's advertising business.
Customer Reach: Businesses can connect with local customers across Apple Maps, Mail, Wallet, and Siri.
Strategic Significance
This represents a major expansion of Apple's enterprise strategy:
- Direct challenge to Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 for small business email/collaboration
- New revenue stream through Maps advertising (following the Google model)
- Deeper enterprise lock-in by controlling the entire device-to-collaboration stack
- Previously available as Apple Business Essentials in the US, this is a global expansion with enhanced features
Pricing and tier details were not announced, but the platform includes options for upgraded iCloud storage and AppleCare+ for Business support.
"We've unified Apple's strongest business offerings into one simple, secure platform," said Susan Prescott, Apple's VP of Enterprise and Education Marketing.
